Beyond Theory: The Power of Curiosity in Holistic Healing

My experience in acupuncture school went far beyond theory and technical training in Chinese medicine. We were taught a set of skills by having curious conversations before we ever put a needle into the human being before us.

One of the things I listen for is if the person knows how they got here to my table (and now in coaching, to my Zoom room :). By being curious with patients and clients, they have a deeper awareness about how through their body sensations. As necessary as awareness is as a first step, it's not enough to change anything. What does work time and again are effective actions + ongoing observations and then the reps, the repetitive actions, that will shift the thing that led you to me.

An insight disappears in about 15 minutes. Change comes about by repetitive practice. Waking up comes from repetitive awareness

I recently held a retreat at the White Feather Farm this past weekend. I'm delighted and humbled by the entire day. I'll say more about that soon, but I wanted to share what a 12 year old (the next generation for the sake of practicing Humaning Well skills very much matters) was thinking as we shared and practiced together that day.

Notebook paper with the following handwritten "this is very interesting!!!" and "its a good learning experience" followed by handdrawn hearts.
Notebook paper with a strawberry and carrot doodle. Handwritten underneath, it says "nothing comes out of the blue. They come out of the oblivion –Mary"

If you're navigating with a recurring body symptom or an organizational one that you'd like different perspective + effective actions, schedule a conversation for curiosity to see if Humaning Well coaching, Zhineng Qigong, Acupuncture (or possibility of all 3) is for you.
