My Spidey Sense said Yes

This week I'm heading to New York for a women's business workshop. It's my second trip there in a month, which is a new pattern for me.

Over these weeks I've met women entrepreneurs and business owners who are generous with their ideas, quick to connect, and clear about what they're building. Being around them, I feel possibility, kindness, and support.

I recognize it when I feel it, and when I feel it, I say yes. My spidey sense is extra sharp these days.

My body knows first. My chest feels spacious, my shoulders drop, and something in me lifts. I learned to trust that signal when I decided to go all in on this work.

On paper it looked like the wrong call. When I pictured going all in, I felt uplifted and spacious.

When I pictured staying put, I felt a thud. I followed the spacious feeling, and it has reliably led me down the right path.

Many of us were trained to wait: for a diagnosis before we take a symptom seriously, for a title before we call ourselves a leader, for permission before we say what we want.

Delaying action on your vision, doesn’t make it easier. And, as I wrote last year, how many summers do you think you have left?? Let this be your wake up call to act imperfectly, but with strong intention as my teacher says every time I see him.

Midlife brings into focus what’s essential and what we’re willing to bear. This is the age when we drop the excuses and the reasons we stay small. The body has been speaking all along, and now we're ready to listen.

Earlier this month, I taught a Zhineng Qigong class at Lighthouse Yoga in Washington, DC. Thirteen people showed up and most had never been to a qigong class. When we finished, 90% of the people stayed and asked question after question. They were ready!

So I'm saying yes to the people and places that help me do this work:

I coach accomplished women in midlife transition to quiet the noise, trust their intuition, and step into their next chapter with total authority.

If you're in that season, you probably know the signs. You've outgrown a role that used to fit.

Your body is sending signals you've been managing instead of hearing.

You can feel a next chapter forming, and part of you is waiting to be sure.

Here's what I know: when you feel the yes and follow it, people and openings show up to meet you. The women I've met in New York City are proof of that.

If you recognize yourself here, let's talk.
