I started coaching with Mary a few months ago for help dealing with stress. I recently gave up my corporate job and went back to being self-employed but as a solopreneur, which was scary because I've never done that before! Mary was there to help me through it and to help me really pay attention to my body. Saying that I'm stressed isn't enough, where am I feeling that, where is my physical body tense, where is this stress manifesting itself inside my body? Are my shoulders hunched, is my belly all knotted? Where is this response happening? By recognising where my body is reacting to my mind, I am able to recognise the feeling and what impact that's having on my body. Through Mary's coaching, I'm calmer, more able to deal with stress, I'm more relaxed. I sleep better. I don't react to situations in unhelpful ways. I'm more conscious of my impact on others around me. Through coaching with Mary, I was able to take a step back from my immediate reactions to the situation and pause, just for a moment, and really look at what was going on. This pause allowed me to consider my instant reaction and change what I was about to do or say, for the better.
